The way you know I am a Very Important Writer is because I have a Very Big Pen.
You can now find my personal blog at www.gabriellezevin.tumblr.com and my letter blog with Carolyn Mackler at Dear Writer .
Despite having access to a truly dizzying array of communication devices, my friend/fellow author Carolyn Mackler and I are writing bona fide paper letters to each other. Come read them at http://www.dearwriter.tumblr.com/, Carolyn & Gabrielle’s Old School Letter Blog.
When I’m signing contracts for my “Adult” books, I use a much larger and far more serious pen.
Will my ink run dry? Can my cartridge be replaced? What if everyone types and no one uses pens anymore? Am I doing enough to increase my Internet presence? Pens used to be so much better… I wish I could have been a pen during Paris in the twenties. Is anyone even reading this?
Evenings spent in the company of other writers often leave my pen claustrophobic, anxious and depressed.
After a weekend spent cavorting with her beau, my pen tries to return to work but finds herself utterly incapacitated by the great work of writers before her.
He’s a mean green writing machine.
Now, I can’t get her to write a thing.
